Tunneling Works
Micro-tunneling works are sporadically encountered in all networks whenever there are road crossings that need to be carried out in a non-disruptive manner. Vertical shafts are used to launch the horizontal micro-tunneling machines and to receive them at the end of each line. Tunneling works will involve the disposal of groundwater and bored material. Shafts can be constructed using secant piles or open cuts if in open areas.
MACE Qatar uses state-of-the-art Herrenknecht tunnel boring machines suitable for the installation of pipe diameters ranging from 150mm to 3000mm by non-disruptive methods. For pumping mains and ducts ranging from 100mm to 600mm, MACE Qatar uses directional drilling equipment mainly by Vermeer and Ditch Witch.
